This morning we left Tucson, drove thru New Mexico and into Texas. Driving through New Mexico was billboard after billboard advertising “The Thing”, Stop and see “The Thing” 30 miles, 20 miles, 10 miles, exit here. So what did we do? We took the exit! The place was pretty funny – ever seen the movie Tremors? I kept thinking, “stay on the rocks!”. The admission included a brief walk through a museum of sorts with some quirky, but interesting things. I’m not going to tell you what “The Thing” was because I don’t want to spoil the surprise in case any of you ever stop there!
Many miles down the road we ran into a dust/thunderstorm like I’ve never seen before (remember, I’m a Southern California girl with only earthquake experience!). Thunder showers, lightening, dust (my first dust storm), all topped off by a rainbow! Crazy weather here in Texas.
Tomorrow morning we head out and should reach our destination in time for lunch – yay! But first, a stop to see the worlds largest roadrunner. Oh yes, the largest roadrunner!
Worlds largest road runner? I’m curious, I really want to see a pic of that. Thanks for sharing your journey :0)
