There’s A Snake In The Pool!

We woke up this morning only to discover that there was no water pressure. Zip. Zero. None. Nada. Before (in California!), I’d turn the handle and water would magically come out if the faucet. Now, we have a well…not so much the wishing kind, but if it was, I would have wished for water. It seems that when the pool guy serviced the pool yesterday, he opened the valve to add water to the pool and left it open. All afternoon, all night, overnight. Long time, huh? Yep, long enough to empty the storage tank.

So, being unable to take a shower what does one do? One jumps in the pool (that’s where all the water from the storage tank was anyway, right?). This was at 8:30 in the morning. Let me tell you that in CA there was no way I would have ever done that because the water in the morning would have just been way too cold. However, that is not the case here! The pool felt amazing, a great way to wake up. I swam back and forth a few times, and was just beginning to marvel at how nice the warm sun felt. And them I saw it. Oh my gosh, what is that? No, it can’t be. It’s a – a snake! Everybody out of the pool! Okay, it was just me – I don’t know how I did it but I was out of that water and standing at the side if the pool in a flash. You have to understand that I do not have any appreciation at all for crawly things, be it spiders, lizards, etc. I cautiously bent over to get a good look at the anaconda that had interrupted my morning swim only to find out it was actually the hose on the pool sweep. New pool, new equipment. Heh, heh..[insert red face here]

  1. A little disconcerting having no water but a dip in the pool is not a bad way to start the day…. even with a scary snake! Can just see the look on your face – both times (thinking it was a snake then realizing it wasn’t!) LOL

  2. Love your blog, keep it up. Thank god for my rock by my side, otherwise I’d be a mess right now. Tell “dude” I said hi.
